During Buffalo’s 27-14 trouncing of the Colts on Sunday, Bills fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium started chanting, “We want Brady!”
Brady being, of course, Tom Brady, Patriots quarterback. Tom and his crew are set to head into the Ralph for a Week 2 matchup that will technically be for first place in the AFC East two weeks into the season.
And Brady told the Dennis & Callahan show on WEEI Monday that “we’ll be there” for “a pretty exciting game.”
“Well, we’ll be there,” Brady said laughing. “Sunday at 1 o’clock is going to be a pretty exciting game. They obviously have a lot of confidence. Coach Ryan, Rex has brought that to a lot of places he’s [coached]. We’ll be ready to go. They’re not an easy team to prepare for, but we’ll be ready to go when the ball’s kicked off. If you love football, Sunday at 1:00 in Orchard Park will be a great place to be.”
The confidence displayed by the Bills isn’t even borderline hilarious. It’s way beyond hilarious. They took care of business against the Colts, a very good, Super Bowl-caliber team.
The Patriots — and Brady specifically — are a different animal. Since coming into the NFL, Tom Brady has played the Bills 26 times. He is 23-3 against Buffalo with 58 touchdowns, 19 interceptions and a 101.2 passer rating in those starts.
He owns the Bills more than Terry Pegula. But good on Buffalo for not shying away from being confident. Wouldn’t expect anything less with Rex coaching.
